CBO HUG
The CBO HUG (Health, Uplift and Growth) was born out of the need for health systems and NCI cancer centers to transform from ad-hoc community outreach and engagement to a strategic equity centered engagement. The CBO HUG prototype was launched by Yale Smilow Cancer Center, COE team in 2026. It’s a foundational framework that structures your strategies and current relationships for more strategic choices for working with CBOs/FBOs. The HUG results in a strategic, living framework that easily identifies community organizations who are best suited to answer questions, lead programs or conduct trusted community outreach aligned so that meaningful co-creation and greater reach and impact can be realized.
